We love it when bands release new music, so we’re delighted to celebrate a new track by Pinewall.

We think they are a band worth keeping an eye out for, and you will love Stealing Lightbulbs.

They are just one of 10 great bands we’ve got in this week’s playlist. Tune in for free on Spotify at: bit.ly/rawsoundstoday.

Don’t forget, we’ve got a Facebook group too with some lively banter. Search the social networking site for RaW Sounds Today and join in the fun.

Happy Easter!

Pinewall – Stealing Lightbulbs

This band made our Top 20 of 2023 and released a single that was our photographer, Andrew Merritt’s fave of the year.

Now, Pinewall, have released their first single of the year and it’s a blast of powerful indie rock with very intense emotional lyrics that are screamed out brilliantly in an impressive vocal performance over solid playing by a tight band of musicians.

This is a band to watch out for and hopefully, there will be more shows to come following the impressive launch show for this single recently at Reading’s Face Bar – https://linktr.ee/pinewall

Radical Dance Faction – Rogue Trooper

RDF are a legendary festival band formed in Hungerford back in the late 1980s by musician Chris Bowsher who has been the only constant member of the band over the years.

They will be performing their impressive blend of dub, ska and punk at Reading’s Purple Turtle this Easter Sunday, so that’s a good excuse to have a listen to this track from their 2019 album Daydream Dystopia.

Another great reason to go along, as well as the fact that it’s free entry, is to check out the cool grooves of the Reggae Reggae Show DJs, Bob Hughes and Jack Hollywood – https://radicaldancefaction.com/

Ghost Dance – I Will Wait

Here’s another legendary band, this time from the world of 1980s goth.

The band split in 1989, but reformed in 2019 by vocalist Anne-Marie Hurst.

They are coming to Reading’s Face Bar on April 18 thanks to those wonderful promoters Club Velocity / New Mind Promotions.

Here’s a song from the album, Stop The World that the band released in the year they split which shows that they certainly knew how to create songs on the melodic uplifting side of goth – https://ghost-dance.co.uk/

Lust For Life Band – Neighbourhood Threat

It’s the band we saw on our recent road trip to the O2 Academy in Islington. An all-star line up comprised of Clem Burke of Blondie, Glen Matlock of Sex Pistols, Kevin Armstrong of David Bowie’s band and more performing the Iggy Pop’s classic Lust For Life album plus loads more – https://www.facebook.com/lustforlife1976

The Dianas – Domestique

Here’s a Reading band who will be live in their home town at Rising Sun Arts Centre on April 26 – https://www.facebook.com/theDIANAS.band

A Better Life – The First Light

The collective is led by producer Phil Daniels with a wonderfully chilled single featuring vocals of Holly Taymar – https://abetterlifemusic.com/

I See Orange – Love Me Too

Here’s a band from Swindon with their 90s-inspired grunge pop rock. This is a great song from their Lonesome Joy EP – https://linkr.bio/ISEEORANGE

The Mezz – Now I Found You

Indie poppers from Oxford, The Mezz, with an uplifting power pop anthem from their new EP – https://found.ee/slYBM

TV Yellow – Friday

Here’s another very good new melodic indie band and they will be live at Wokingham Festival in August – https://linktr.ee/tv_yellow

The Nations United – Confidence

You can see this exciting new Reading band supporting The Dianas at the Club Velocity show mentioned above – https://linktr.ee/thenuofficial
