PLANS for a new family entertainment centre planned for Reading’s Broad St. Mall have been revised.
FunBox Entertainment is planning the arcade on the site of the former New Look store at the shopping centre.
Initial plans were approved before Christmas, but the company is seeking permission from Reading Borough Council to adjust its proposals.
It wants to remove four duckpin bowling lanes – which use smaller bowls and pins – and replace them with four art dart boards and four pool tables.
Othe games planned include air hockey, Mario Kart arcade machines, a VR gaming area, and a basketball shootout game.
CGIs show the centre will be called Urban Fun and will face out onto Queens Walk, between Fountain House and Reading Biscuit Factory.
The new application can be seen by searching for reference 240341 on Reading Borough Council’s planning website.
Bowling is already provided at Spinners Crazy Golf & Bowling, which currently occupies Broad St. Mall. A Bowl Central is planned for the former Dawson’s music shop at 65 Caversham Road, while Hollywood Bowl is planning to launch in the former House of Fraser store in The Oracle.
