THE RISING Sun Arts Centre is once again set to host a day of live music in its annual festival this weekend.

On Saturday, performers and members of the public will descend on the venue for the 2024 iteration of its summer festival event, Here Comes The Sun.

This year will see nearly 20 acts spread across three stages at the venue, with music, comedy, art, and activities.

The Sun Stage will see a headline performance from Reading-based Ska covers band The Skandal.

They’ll be joined by Reading regulars Dolly and the Clothespegs, who bring “riverbilly” sensibilities; Strangers in Transit; and The Borough.

Also on the bill are Panic Button, Bored SLippy, Jimmy the Dog, and Jackie Doe and the Uncertainty of Passion.

The stage will also see live visual accompaniment from Iridiphore.

The Tree Stage will see a headline performance from Satin Beige, with support from Daughter of the Water, Grace Pounds, and returning performer Lee Switzer-Woolf.

The stage will be opened by Delta, followed by ZAP! Comedy.

Meanwhile the Sky Stage will see performances from members of the Dreading Poetry Slam, Grant Sharkey, and musicians from the venue’s Artist Link-up Showcase, which fosters undiscovered talent from in and around Reading.

The festival also sees family-friendly activities as well as food and drink from the venue, alongside art installations and live comedy.

Here Comes The Sun takes place at the Rising Sun Arts Centre, Silver Street, from 2pm on Saturday, August 10.
