READING’S Economy and Destination Agency (REDA) has announced that it is set to mark National Apprenticeship Week with a flagship event.
It is holding a business innovation showcase at Reading Town Hall, which will welcome celebrated broadcaster Steph McGovern and motorsport legend Ross Brawn.
The afternoon is designed to showcase how apprenticeships bridge the gap between education and industry, driving fresh ideas and practical capability into the local economy.
Attendees will experience a programme including a panel discussion, an interactive Q&A session, and the opportunity to engage directly with local apprenticeship providers, as well as meet the speakers and take part in book signings.
Steph McGovern, is an award-winning journalist and broadcaster, known for her business expertise as well as her start as an apprentice engineer at Black & Decker where, aged nineteen, she won the title of Young Engineer for Britain before studying at University College London.
Ross Brawn is managing director of Formula 1 Motorsports and among the most respected technical leaders in F1 history, after beginning his work in Motorsport at March Engineering in Bicester and later joining Williams Grand Prix Engineering in Reading.

The Power of Apprenticeships: Driving Business Innovation takes place at Reading Town Hall from 1pm on Wednesday, February 11.

National Apprenticeship Week is a celebration that brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy.
