Sugarhill Gang and Furious 5 set to headline Readipop Festival in 2022

READIPOP is gearing up for another weekend of musical acts at the top of their game, with some of the heaviest hitters in R&B, rock, pop, and more set to take to the stage.

Friday

Friday will kick off the festival’s Readipop stage offerings with Skills C at 6.30pm, followed by Mike Wagner at 7.30pm, Forje at 8.15pm, Amya-Ray at 9.15pm, and The Skandal will close the stage, starting at 10.15pm.

Lilac will take the lead at the Purple Turtle stage from 7.45pm, with King Kuda following at 8.45pm, and Sunscreem at 10pm.

The main stage will see Air Circus at 7pm, Jesus Jones at 8.15pm, and Headliners Morcheeba at 10pm.

 

Saturday

The main stage will see Deva St John kick off the day’s acts at 1.15pm, and Tsungai Tsikarai will play at 2.15pm. From 3.30, Alive By Night will perform, followed by OSP at 4.15, DJ Format from 4.30pm, The Drop from 6.15pm, Stealing Sheep from 8pm.

The Rum and Donuts DJs will also be performing in between acts.

Sugarhill Gang will close the evening with their headline set from 9.45pm.

Readiphonics will take to the Readipop stage at 1.15pm, followed by Imogen Halsey at 2.15pm, Jess Tuthill at 3pm, The Readipop AAA Takeover at 4pm, Tom Webber at 8.15pm, and Annual Daydream Harvest will close the stage from 9pm.

The Purple Turtle stage will start Saturday with three spoken panels, with Stephen Morris in conversation from 2pm, followed by Richard Jobson and Stealing sheep.

At 4pm, The Menstrual Cramps will kick off the music, followed by Hatty Taylor at 5pm, Ben Ottewell at 5.45pm, Shard Project from 7.15pm, Too Many T’s from 8.30pm. DJ Tasha KP will close the stage at 9.45pm.

 

Sunday

Sunday’s main stage line-up will start with DJs Jim Donovan and Rachael Chrisp, who will also perform between acts, followed by Nigel Clark at 1.30pm, Hoopy Frood and 2.45pm, JNR Watson and the Reading Reggae Collective from 3.45, and Brother Zulu at 5pm.

Beatroots will kick off their set at 5.45pm, before Badly Drawn Boy will perform, starting at 6.15pm.

Transglobal Underground will close the main stage with their set from 7.45pm.

The Purple Turtle stage will begin the day’s acts with Corvid from 12.45pm, No Feathers from 1.45pm, Team and Jam from 2.30pm, 4Fingaz from 3.15pm, The Pink Diamond Revue at 4.15, Jopy at 5.15pm, and OSP will finish the evening from 7.15pm.

BBC Berkshire will take over the Readupop stage on Sunday, with Surya playing from 12.30pm, Darcey Hope from 1.15pm, Du’Val from 2pm, Elucidate from 2.45pm, Wynona from 3.30pm, and Danny Lampo from 4.30.

Doops will kick off from 5.30pm, Split the Dealer from 6.30pm, and Third Lung will close the show from 7.30pm.

The weekend event will also host the Reading Indie Urban Market too, as well as local beers and ales, street food, and workshops.

ReadiPop takes place at venues across Reading this weekend, from Friday-Sunday, July 8-10.
