READING is now on its third day of water pressure problems, leading to Thames Water setting up a bottled water station.
Since Saturday, the firm has been dealing with an issue at the Pangbourne Treatment Works.
As a result, residents have had no water or little water.
One reader told Reading Today they had had an electrical fault after their washing machine was unable to collect enough water to complete its cycle.
Another has said they were not contacted by the firm’s emergency response team despite being a vulnerable household.
Reading College has had to close today due to the low water pressure.
To help Newtown residents affected, the company has set up a water station at the Tesco Extra store in Napier Road.
The company asks people to only take what they need and its staff will place the water into vehicles.
It is the second time this weekend that stations have been launched.
On Saturday, they were in Calcot’s Savacentre and Tilehurst’s Meadway Centre to give out bottles of water to affected households.
Deliveries were made to vunerable customers.
Thames Water says the affected postcodes are in the RG1 and RG30 areas.
In a post on its website, the water firm said: “We’re very sorry if you’re still experienceng no water or low pressure this morning.
“Our teams continue to work hard on fixing the problem. The repair is complete and water pressure in our network is returning to normal, but you may still have lower water pressure than usual. We are also fixing the reported water leaks in the area.
“We have opened a water station where you can collect bottled water. Please only take what you need. Our teams will place the water in your vehicle, so there is no need to get out of your car. Please ensure you turn your engine off when our teams place water in your vehicle.

“We know how inconvenient it is if you lose your water supply and we’re working hard to get things back to normal as soon as we can.
“Thank you for your continued patience while we fix this.”
The problems have been made worse by leaks across the network, with Newtown residents reporting issues at the junction of Wokingham Road with Eastern Avenue.
