READING Borough Council has announced that it is closing the subway under Reading Station overnight ahead of Reading Festival this weekend.
From 8pm today (Wednesday, August 23) until 6am tomorrow, the underpass at Reading Station will be closed temporarily for a number of works to be undertaken.
The council, in conjunction with Network Rail, will see netting and panels removed overnight as an increased security measure.
Signage will be in place to alert pedestrians, and the council is expecting hugely increased footfall.
