2025 IS A significant year for a Reading place of learning with a long history.

Reading School celebrates its 900th year – a remarkable milestone.

As it begins its 10th century, the school is marking its impressively long story with events and activities throughout the year.

On Saturday, students past and present and their guests were invited to the school’s biggest of these celebrations, a Grand Reunion.

From the afternoon until 10pm, Readingensians old and new were able to enjoy live performances from current student musicians at the school, watch afternoon sports on the school field, listen to evening jazz from the Rich Meehan Trio, and partake in an early evening hog roast followed by desserts.

Continuing to mark the school’s extraordinarily long history, later in the year there will be a thanksgiving service in the school chapel, in October, and a riverside barbecue.

Current students will showcase their rowing prowess, and past alumni will be able to reconnect once again.

And to round off the school’s 900th year, a Gala Dinner in November, with fundraising, keynote speakers, auctions, awards and entertainment, will be held at the Concert Hall in Reading.
