This week’s planning roundup for Reading features solar panelled parking near the Select Car Leasing Stadium and new flats above a pub.

You can find out more about each application by searching the application number at Reading Borough Council’s Planning Portal.

Reading Borough Council has received an application to build off-street solar panelled parking near Reading FC’s Select Car Leasing Stadium.

Voco Reading Hotel on Shooters Way would like to build the solar panels above nine spaces to the north of it’s car park.

The spaces would have 22.5 per cent maximum efficiency which would be used to power the hotel in a more sustainable and environmentally friendly way.

Permission for a new advert for Greggs at a service station has been sought from Reading Borough Council.

Motor Fuel Limited which runs Rose Kiln Service Station would like to display a brand-new free-standing pole to advertise the fast-food chain.

The free-standing pole measuring five metres in height and 1.5 metres in width, donned with the well-known Greggs logo.

The service station is located off the A33 in Reading and has a petrol station, forecourt and shop.

Reading Borough Council have validated the application, and a decision is yet to be made.

The Horn in Reading town centre could be refurbished and partially converted into flats, after an application was sent to Reading Borough Council.

The listed building on St Marry’s Butts is currently a traditional British pub.

Owners would like to preserve the ground floor for hospitality use, and convert the first floor into three flats.

Changes to the pub could include a new covered and garden area, as well as kitchen and storage areas.

This would involve a full repair and refurbishment of the site and potentially mean the pub would become closed for a period.

The application had been validated by Reading Borough Council and a decision has not been made yet.

More parking and cycle spaces have been approved for a warehouse in Thames Valley Park.

The warehouse is currently out of use and is for sale on Rightmove.

The warehouse is a detached unit made of steel and with brick elevations.

The spaces would be provided by Scours Lane, opposite the IO trade centre.

The application does not indicate the number of parking spaces and cycle spaces being added to the site.
