Play area upgrade for school in Whitley (PL/25/0292)
Councillors are due to approve a plan to upgrade play equipment and make purpose-built play facilities suitable for children with SEND at Whitley Park Primary & Nursery School.
The existing play area for the school in Brixham Road is within a quad and provides a garden atmosphere for pupils.
The project would involve the installation of an adventure trail, a sunken trampoline, a climbing wall and a ziz-zag twister.
All new play area for school in Caversham (PL/25/0342)
A new play area is also set to be created at Thameside Primary School.
This project involves the upgrade of the existing playground to install SEND play equipment and three-metre security fencing to close off the play
area within the existing site boundary.
Existing play equipment would have to either be demolished or removed to make way for the changes.
The new play area would feature an in-ground trampoline, a birds nest swing, a rock ‘n’ bowl dish, a wobbly plank, a balance beam and a pick up sticks climbing frame.

The council has applied to upgrade the existing playground at Oxford Road Community School so that it is suitable for children with Special Educational Needs.

Roof extension to create two-bed flat approved (PL/18/0162)
A plan for an extension to the Kings Lodge apartment building to create a two-bedroom flat has been approved.
The project involves the demolition of an existing rooftop plant room to create a home for future occupants.
A previous application for the project was rejected and refused on appeal in 2017.
However, the appeal was only refused as the developer failed to enter a section 106 legal agreement with the council to secure an affordable housing contribution, with the agreement subsequently being made for the sum of f £21, 250 this month.
