A READING man has been charged with murder following a stabbing last week.
Brett Mann, aged 49 and of Maldon Close, has been charged with a count of murder after he was arrested on Thursday, January 2.
South Central Ambulance Service was called to an incident which took place in Maldon Close at 11.37pm on Thursday, January 2.
The victim, a man aged in his forties, was found with serious stab wounds at a property, but later died at the scene.
A scene watch was put in place at the property, with police appealing for information about the incident– though no wider risk to the public is currently suspected, as the victim and the offender were known to each other.
Mann was remanded in custody, initially on suspicion of attempted murder– this charge was elevated to murder following the death of the victim.
Mann is now due to appear at Reading Magistrate’s Court later today (Monday, January 6.)
