READING FC left-back Nesta Guinness-Walker has been linked with a move away from the club this transfer window with Championship clubs interested in his signature.

With financial issues to contend with, the Royals may be forced to sell some senior players before the window shuts at the end of the move.

It has been reported that both West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn Rovers are pursuing a move for the full-back.

Guiness-Walker, who joined Reading last summer on a free transfer from AFC Wimbledon, featured in Reading’s opening League One match but has been omitted from the match day squad for the last two games.

The 23-year-old has seemingly lost his spot at left-back to academy graduate Matty Carson who has impressed with his recent performances in the back four.

Guinness-Walker kick-started his senior career with Wimbledon and played 97 games and scored three times.

Ex-Reading star Ejaria on trial with former Royals manager

After a successful trial with Reading last summer, the club handed him a one-year deal.

He played 28 times last season in the Championship, being used as a left wing-back in a back five and also as a left back in a back four.

Reading opted to activate a clause in his contract to extend his deal for another season, but it looks as if they are open to letting him leave if the right offer is received.
