Reading FC U21’s journey in the Berks & Bucks Cup was ended last night with a heavy defeat to non-league Bracknell Town.
The Royals, now managed by Peter Scott after Noel Hunt was appointed as first-team manager in December, suffered a humbling loss despite having some players with senior experience.
It was a disastrous start for Reading who found themselves two goals down within five minutes.
The Robins grabbed an early advantage through Seb Bowerman and then made it two just moments later when Joel Rollinson netted.
Bracknell could have had a third, but were denied by an offside flag.
It wasn’t long before Bracknell did find their third of the night before the Royals got themselves back in the contest with a strike from Joe Barough.
Bowerman sealed his hat-trick early in the second half which was enough to see Bracknell through to the semi-finals.
