Noel Hunt’s Reading FC under 21s team suffered a home defeat in the Premier League International Cup last night against AS Monaco.

Having made an excellent start in the competition in their European debut with a 2-1 victory over Ajax U21s last month, the Royals tasted defeat on Monday night.

Up against French side Monaco, the Royals found themselves one goal down at the break through Joan Tincres.

Florian Barankik doubled Monaco’s lead before Tincres found his second of the night.

Jeremiah Okine-Peters, who scored a sensational hat-trick last week in Reading’s win over Tottenham, grabbed a goal back.

But Monaco had the last say of the evening when Lucas Michal made it 4-1 deep into stoppage time to seal the game.
