Reading FC’s teenage star has won a call up for the England Under 18s squad for the upcoming international break.
17-year-old Andre Garcia has played a pivotal role for the Royals first-team this season despite his youth.
Being trusted to play in the first-team at just 16 under Ruben Selles, Garcia has been consistently picked since Noel Hunt replaced Selles as manager and has made 30 League One appearances so far this campaign.
Garcia has won plenty of plaudits and admiration for his performances at such a young age and has been tipped to play at a higher level in the near future.
While Reading will be keen to hold on to him for as long as possible, there has already been plenty of interest in Garcia, including bids from Premier League Southampton in the last transfer window.
Reading may face a struggle to keep hold of him in the summer transfer window even if a takeover has been completed by that stage.
The England U18s side will play three fixtures in Porto later this month, while new England first-team manager Thomas Tuchel names his first Three Lions’ squad today (Friday).
