Reading FC have bolstered their squad by making use of the free agents market to sign midfielder Tom Carroll until the end of the season.
The 32-year-old central midfielder has signed with the Royals on a short-term deal until the end of the current campaign.
Manager Noel Hunt said: “ “We’re delighted to bring in a player of Tom’s experience into the building to bolster our options in the final stages of the season.
He’s someone who has played a huge number of games across the EFL and Premier League, and as a person he is just the kind of character we are looking to recruit into our squad.”
Carroll started his career at Tottenham and made 27 Premier League appearances for the London club, scoring one Premier League goal.
Following a four season stint with Swansea City, he has played for Queens Park Rangers, Ipswich Town, Exeter City and most recently at MK Dons.
He also won 17 caps for the England U21s early in his career, tipped as one of the brightest talents in England’s youth set-up from 2013-15.
Carroll said: “It’s great to be here, it’s a brilliant club.
“I trained the other day and enjoyed it, it’s a really good group with a good bunch of staff.
“The facilities here are at the elite level, the boys are really lucky to have that.
“I want to help the team as much as I can, it’s a young group with bags of potential.”
