Reading FC look set to complete the signing of left-back Matty Jacob on loan from Championship side Hull City.

The Royals still have plenty of work to do to fill out their squad and look poised to add the 24-year-old to their ranks for the 2025/26 season.

Reading played much of last season without a recognised senior left-back which saw teen star Andre Garcia given plenty of first-team opportunities.

Jacob has spent time out on loan with Pickering Town and Gateshead and has spent the past two seasons with Hull.

He played eight Championship games last season and scored one goal, however he did not feature in the last 16 matches of the campaign as he now searches for regular game time away from the Tigers.
