Reading FC manager Ruben Selles is confident that a takeover deal for Rob Couhig to purchase the club from Dai Yongge will still happen.

Despite reports suggesting that the deal would be wrapped up last week, delays have seen the official announcement of the deal delayed.

Speaking on the ownership situation, Selles said: “I don’t have the details (on why it has been delayed).

“That process has been there. There is a lot of things when you buy a club, you need to be sure what you are buying and the papers and details of the contract. I’m sure Rob (Couhig) is doing everything he can to get the club as soon as possible.

“I have no idea about the exact issues, but every time we have been very close there has been something that they need to revisit. These things take time.

“I don’t know when (it will be completed) because we’ve been talking about it for the last four months.

“We have a group of young players that are working together and we will have bad days like today. It’s where we are and the last couple of weeks we have been brilliant against Birmingham and Wigan.

“The players are giving us 100% and if somebody can help us then really good, if not then we will continue fighting.

“People need to know until the takeover happens and the entire season, it’s a season to establish the platform and then we will see what will be at the end of the season.
