Former Reading FC head of football Mark Bowen has cancelled his appearance at the Supporters Trust at Reading (STAR’s) fans forum event next week,
Bowen, who was sacked by the club back in September for ‘bringing the club into disrepute’ after being found guilty of breaching the FA’s betting rules was due to appear at the event on Tuesday, November 19.
However, he has had to cancel and has now been replaced by Reading legends Ady Williams and Nicky Forster after STAR announced on social media: “Fans Forum
We will now be joined by not one, but two Reading legends with experience of League One promotion – Nicky Forster and Ady Williams.
They will join our club captain Andy Yiadom and one of our most exciting young talents, Kelvin Abrefa at the Phantom Brewery on Tuesday night.

ad reported that Bowen was in a legal dispute with the club after his contract was terminated.
Bowen, who was first-team manager from 2019-2020 before he rejoined as head of football in 2022, was suspended by the club in July after he was found guilty of placing 95 bets on football matches between April 2022 to January 2024.
Club captain Andy Yiadom and right-back Kelvin Abrefa will also feature at the event where they will be quizzed by the Royals fans.
