Reading FC boss Noel Hunt has sent out a rallying cry to the fans ahead of their crucial game against Barnsley today.
The Royals host the Tykes today at the Select Car Leasing Stadium with a hope of making the final League One play-off place.
Speaking to the Reading FC media team, Hunt said: “We are excited and looking forward to the crowd. It’s always a special one and especially because we’ve got something to play for.
“We know the magnitude of the game, but we just have to do what we have to do.
“It’s amazing that we’re close to selling out, it’s so pleasing for us.
“They (the fans) have been brilliant all season and they are a big part of what we do with the energy and the buzz they give the lads, it really shines through so the more, the merrier.
“It’ll be a tough game, they have players that can hurt us all over the pitch but it’s important we can focus on us first and then counteract what they do.
“I feel they (Barnsley) have underachieved this year with their squad and I have no doubt Conor (Hourihane) will want to have a strong performance to finish the season off so we have to be at our best.
“It’s a huge honour for me to lead this team. Everyone knows what this club means to me and what the players have achieved in the last two years has been incredibly powerful. For me to be at the helm and lead them every week, it’s a real privilege and a special honour. It’s something that I don’t take for granted.”
