Reading FC goalkeeper Joel Pereira is subject to transfer interest from Championship clubs, according to national reports.
The Daily Mirror reported in their transfer blog earlier this week that the shot stopper is being considered by teams in the Championship.
The Royals, who are under immense financial pressure due to the unresolved takeover issue due to Dai Yongge, have had several players linked with moves away including Lewis Wing, Charlie Savage, Harvey Knibbs and Tyler Bindon.
However, Reading have so far managed to keep hold of all of their first-team talent in the January transfer window more than halfway through the month.
Pereira forced his way in as the number one keeper at Reading towards the back end of last season and played a total of nine League One games.
Throughout the 2024/25 campaign, he has been the preferred choice for both Ruben Selles and now Noel Hunt and has played 18 league games and put in some excellent performances which has helped the Royals earn a spot in the top six.
The 28-year-old is out of contract in the summer which means the club could be tempted to move him on for a fee if an acceptable offer is presented to them.
However, it appears that the playing staff at the club are determined to keep the player even if that means seeing him leave on a free transfer this sumer.
