Amadou Mbengue has left a farewell message to the Reading FC fans after departing to join Championship side Queens Park Rangers.
Mbengue had been offered a contract extension by the Royals but has opted to play a division higher.
Taking to Instagram to say goodbye to the Reading fans, he said: “I want to thank you from the very bottom of my heart for the past 3 seasons. This was my first experience in English football and I loved every minute of it. You made me feel at home from the first moment I arrived and I will carry our special connection with me for the rest of my career. I felt like one of you!!
“Also thank you for all my teammates, all the coaching staff , the kit man , and everyone working at the club who supported me every day!!!
“It is time for me to start a new challenge in my footballing journey. I will be following Reading’s results closely next season and I hope to see the club back where it belongs very soon. All my love.”
