Reading FC have signed defender Jeriel Dorsett up to a one-year contract extension.

That follows the news earlier today that midfielder Tivonge Rushesha was also signed to a one-year deal.

The academy graduate joined the club in 2018 and has since made a total of 45 appearances for the senior team in all competitions.

He played 23 times in League One in the 2023/24 season and made 14 league appearances last season as his campaign was disrupted by injuries.

Reading manager Noel Hunt said: “We are delighted that Jeriel has extended his stay with us. He’s come through our Academy as a Scholar and he’s done so well to break into our First Team setup despite injury setbacks at times.

“He’s a big strong lad and will be a fantastic option for our backline as we enter the new season, but perhaps more importantly he consistently demonstrates the right characteristics and personality within the dressing room.”
