Reading FC have confirmed the signing of striker Will Keane on loan from Championship side Preston North End for the remainder of the season.
Keane has previously worked under Reading manager Leam Richardson. He was top scorer for Wigan Athletic in the 2021/22 campaign where he netted 26 goals to help Richardson’s team win promotion as champions.
The Royals are also hoping to secure the signature of defender Ricardo Santos from Championship Swansea City as they look to bolster their squad in the January transfer window.
After a run of strong results in the league, Reading are in 9th position in League One, just four points outside the play-off places.
“I’m delighted to get the acquisition of Will over the line he’s a fantastic person,” said Reading manager Richardson.
“As player, and as person I know him well, I know what he brings to the group. Will has a proven record of scoring goals in this division- and the one above-and will add plenty of quality to our frontline for the remainder of the season.”
