Reading FC’s away allocation for their Championship relegation clash against Barnsley has been increased.

Royals fans have shown immense support on the road for their side despite the team’s struggles on the pitch this season in the midst of a tense fight for survival.

The club were initially allocated 973 seats for the trip to Oakwell on Saturday, April 2.

However, after nearly selling out the initial allocation, more tickets have been granted which will take the away support to around 1,800 if it is sold out.

Tickets for adults are priced at £23, 65 and over and 19-21 are £16, 12-18 are £10 and 11 and under are £5.

It will prove to be a pivotal game in the season that could provide the momentum for the potential victors the platform to survive the drop.

Reading have improved their chances of staying in the league with a positive week of action that saw them earn a point away at AFC Bournemouth before they defeated Blackburn Rovers at the weekend courtesy of Josh Laurent’s exceptional strike.

The win gives Reading a five point advantage over 22nd placed Barnsley who improved their chances with a midweek win over Bristol City, but they were beaten on Saturday by Sheffield United.

The Royals have already beaten the Tykes once this season with a 1-0 victory at the Select Car Leasing Stadium in October thanks to John Swift’s goal.
