Reading defender Tom McIntyre has completed a permanent move to League One leaders Portsmouth for a fee of around £75,000.
The Royals have now seen four defenders leave the club this January transfer window, while Tom Holmes returned on loan for the remainder of the season after sealing his move to Luton.
Fellow academy graduate Nelson Abbey left to join Olympiacos on a permanent move, while Nesta Guinness-Walker has been loaned out to League One Stevenage for the rest of the season.
The transfer window shuts on Thursday night and with any incomings unlikely at this stage, the Royals will be desperate not to lose any more integral first-team players, while the owners appear fixated on getting as much value as they can from the club before any takeeover talks are negociated.
It has been reported that the deal was agreed without consenting head of football operations Mark Bowen or manager Ruben Selles with McIntyre leaving for a nominal fee.
The 25-year-old centre-back has struggled with injuries throughout this campaign which has seen his game time limited.
Reading born McIntyre rose through the ranks in the Royals academy before making his debut for the first-team in 2018.
Having become a regular starter in the side from the 2019/20 season onwards, McIntyre has made a total of 119 appearances for the club in all competitions and has scored seven goals.
His deal at the club was due to expire at the end of the season meaning that he would have been able to leave on a free transfer in the summer.
