READING CITY FC has announced a new partnership with Her Game Too.

Her Game Too is a non profit organisation that was founded by 12 female football fans to raise the awareness of and fight against sexism in the game.

Despite not yet having a women’s or girls’ side of their own, the Cityzens are partnered with sister club Tilehurst Panthers who provide opportunities as the largest girls’ only club in Reading.

Reading City head of marketing Ryan Sheehan said: I’m absolutely thrilled that HerGameToo have accepted our application to become a partner club and would like to thank Em and her team for their help.

“We may predominantly be a boys and men’s football club, but we have a proud partnership with Tilehurst Panthers and together promote girls and women’s football within our community as we believe football is a game for everyone.

“I wanted to formally recognise the support and commitment women give the club, from parents to club officials.

“I’d like to mention the levels of commitment we receive from Victoria Pyke, our Facilities Manager and Treasurer. She’s influential to our club.

Victoria will be the club’s Her Game Too ambassador. She said: “I’m really excited to be working with HerGameToo. We often hear the message that football is a game for all and that rings true here as we welcome everyone irrespective of gender, sexuality, ethnicity, ability or disability, faith or age and this new partnership helps to reinforce that message.

Co-founder and director of Her Game Too Eve Ralph added: “We are delighted to work closely with Reading City who are a shining example of a welcoming and inclusive club for all members of the community. We like to ensure we can support all that encompass the footballing family from players to fans, staff members to family.”
