READING FC chief executive Dayong Pang has called for fans to ‘be more patient’ over the potential sale of the club.
The Royals fans ramped up their protests against the ownership of Dai Yongge as thousands of supporters took to the pitch to get their League One clash with Port Vale postponed.
Under the ownership of Dai Yongge, the club has been deducted 16 points, failed to pay wages on time on numerous occasions, made key staff members redundant and has failed to fund the club adequately.
Speaking to Jim White on TalkSport radio, Pang said: “The reaction (to the protest) is that it’s done nothing good for the club or the selling process.
“Be more patient. It takes time. Please be patient.
“We are talking to all different types of buyers. Mr Dai is 100% willing to sell the club.
“He’s trying to put the club in safe hands. We can’t sell the club to just any people. It’s complicated.
“All I can say is to be more patient.”
After failing to meet the deadline to fund the deposit account ordered by the EFL, Dai Yongge has been fined a further £50,000, taking the total to £80,000.
