READING Buses has laid out its schedule changes for the Reading Half Marathon this weekend.

As well as providing services to the event itself, they have also made temporary changes to routes affected by the road closures.

The M1 shuttle will provide a regular service between central Reading and the start line by the Select Car Leasing Stadium, connecting it the southwest interchange at Reading Station.

The service will run frequently from 7am until 9.24am, when it will be subject to diversions while the event takes place.

After 11.30am, the service will return to their normal route, running until the final shuttle into town from the stadium at 3pm.

Tickets for the shuttle are £1.50 each way, and that all-bus, day, easysaver, group, and longer-term tickets cannot be used on the M1 service, and you cannot pay by cash.

There are also free services to and from the car parks for those who have booked parking in advance.

The blue and yellow car parks, at Mereoak park and ride and Shinfield Park respectively, will be connected to the stadium with routes M2 and M3.

Tickets are included in prepaid parking fees.

As a number of roads are closed during the course of the half marathon, a number of services will see route disruption, including routes 1, 2, 3, 4/X4, 5, 6,/6a, 10, 11, 13/14, 15/16, 17, 18, 21, 23/24, 25, 26, 29, and 33.

During race hours, the Jet Black 1 will divert via Honey End Lane, Dee Road, and Oxford Road, while the Lime 2 will divert via Honey End Lane, Dee Road, Oxford Road, and Chatham Street.

The Leopard 3 will divert via Lower Earley Way, Rushey Way, Elm Lane, and Wokingham Road to Reading Station, while the Lion 4/X4 will divert via Forbury Road and Blagrave Street.

Emerald 5, 6, and 6a will not be running between around 8.30am and 1.30pm, route Ruby 10 will be paused between 7.48am and 1.43pm, and Bronze 11 will not run between 9.30am and 2pm.

Orange 13/14 will not serve Jacksons Corner outbound, though inbound journeys are not affected.

Services 15, 16, and 17 will all divert via Chatham Street heading toward the town centre, diverting via the Inner Distribution Road (IDR) outbound.

Buzz 18 will divert via Reading Station North Interchange stop NA instead of serving Friar Street, Greyfriars Road, and Caversham Road.

Claret 21 will divert from Kendrick Student Village via Crown Street and Bridge Street, and via Wilderness Road and Kings Road during race hours.

Berry 23/24 and Pink 25 will terminate at Station North Interchange, short of Friar Street.

Yellow 26 and Royal Blue 33 will both divert via Dee Road, Oxford Road, and Chatham Street during race hours.

Service 650 from Mereoak Park and Ride will not run between 7.30am and 2.30pm.

Reading Half Marathon takes place from 10.15am until 4pm, though many roads may be closed as early as 7am.
