ONE of Reading’s festival highlights returned to Christchurch Meadows once again for its annual showcase of both home-grown and international talent.
Readipop was back with three days of top-tier headliners and rising stars alike, with Ash, Echobelly, and Fabio & Grooverider heading up the main stage offerings.
They were joined by Dub Pistols, Republica, A Certain Radio, Goldie Lookin’ Chain, La Morte Subite, and International Resque.
Elsewhere Reading’s own Community Gospel Choir and Beatroots gave performances alongside Natalie Gray, Colours and Fires, Elucidate, K.Kayne, and Readiophonics.
It also saw the return of the AAA local talent takeover, showcasing performers from Readipop’s outreach music programme, giving them a chance to get vital stage experience and present their original work.
Also returning were Reading’s own drag monarch Big Jay, who curated a weekend of cabaret and variety acts through the Reading Pride Takeover, including Lentil Pulse, Maxy Black, Izzy A’Boi, and Mistress Lezmerelda.
While the festival is over for another year, the charity behind the event brings new opportunities to young people in Reading all year round.
Young people supported by Readipop’s charity programs will be front and centre when Access All Areas highlights musicians from its regular sessions of the same name.
