Wates Developments is exploring building 148 homes near Junction 11 of the M4.
If it went ahead, it would be in Three Mile Cross between the Reading Gospel Hall at Church Lane and the M4 motorway.
The firm has submitted an environmental impact assessment (EIA) to Wokingham Borough Council to determine whether such a development would be acceptable.
The application is on Wokingham Borough Council’s planning portal, reference 233038, and on the Reading Borough Council’s planning portal, reference 231811.
