PROGRESS Theatre is showing a new production from an Oscar-winning writer next month.
The company is set to bring Martin McDonagh’s The Cripple of Inishmaan to the stage in May.
It is the third production Progress has adapted from the work of McDonagh, the writer behind hits In Bruges and The Banshees of Inisherin, following its runs of The Lonesome West and Hangmen.
Set on the Aran Islands, off the west coast of Ireland, in the 1930s, where the locals learn a Hollywood film crew has arrived in a neighbouring town.
Orphan Billy Claven strives to earn a part in the film, eager to leave the gossip and boredom of his home life behind.
The Cripple of Inishmaan is showing at Progress Theatre, The Mount, from Friday, May 2, to Saturday, May 10.
