A teacher who became a tutor has developed “an absolutely fantastic business supporting learners across Reading and England who are out of school or struggling to get into the workplace.”

Lucy Alexandra Spencer has been nominated for the Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Her nominator said: “Starting the company in 2016, Lucy left the classroom as a teacher embarking on a journey into tutoring that saw her services being requested internationally by royal families and global business leaders.

“Realising by herself she could only help so many learners, she scaled Education Boutique, a bespoke tutoring service, within six years, to acquisition by The Eteach Group.

“The company today stands as an educational powerhouse in the SEN community, supporting thousands of parents, schools, local authorities and learners, and generating profits of six figures per month,” said the nominator.
