Lee Smith has been the inspirational head teacher of Holybrook Special Educational Needs School for 25 years, says his nominator for The Chris Tarrant Award.
“In this time he has been a champion and role model for the pupils of Holybrook school and school staff by putting children’s development and wellbeing first.
“Lee always prioritises the pupils’ educational needs and he has built special relationships with the children, understanding their needs and making them feel worthy,” they added.
“He works tirelessly to give the children the best education possible, not tolerating second best or any practice in school that doesn’t prioritise the best education for all children.
“I believe Lee deserves the Pride of Reading award for his long and ongoing service to Holybrook school and the pupils and staff. Lee expects nothing but the best for the children and I believe that deserves recognition,” said the nominator.
The award is sponsored by The Oracle shopping centre.
