Power cut hits Reading homes – not expected back on until 11pm

EARLEY residents are without power this evening after an outage.

SSE warned that electricity might not be restored until 11pm this evening.

Residents in an area around the Royal Berkshire Hospital including Erleigh Road to The Mount and skirting Whiteknights campus are currently in the dark.

The outage was reported at 7.52pm this evening (Monday, November 14), and SSE have sent an engineer to the site to investigate.
No reason for the outage has been given.

Roads affected include Addington Road, Alexandra Road, Elmhurst Road, Upper Redlands Road, Northcourt Avenue and Christchurch Green. An area around Pepper Land is also affected.

The SSE reference is KE8939, and the affected postcode area is RG1.
