Police seeking witnesses to GBH after man found with stab wound in central Reading

THAMES Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a man was found with stab wounds in the early hours of Saturday, July 29.

At around 3.40am on Saturday, officers found a man in his twenties with several injuries which included stab wounds to his shoulder.

He also had a wound on his head.

Officers believe he was involved in an altercation at the junction of Oxford Road and St Mary’s Butts.

The victim was taken to hospital, but has since been discharged.

A 32-year-old man from Ealing has been arrested in connection with the incident, but police are now appealing for witnesses who may be able to assist the investigation.

Detective Inspector Stuart Streeter, of CID, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who has information about what happened, to please come forward.

“You can contact police by calling 101 or making a report online quoting reference 43230336764.

“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or via its website.”
