A POLICE operation to clamp down on car theft in west Reading has led to an arrest.
Thames Valley Police’s Reading Priority Crime Team worked with its Tactical Cycle Team last week following an increase in reports of vehicles being targeted.
They focused on Oxford Road, and made one arrest and two people are wanted on a warrant.
Officers said they spoke to a number of people, and also searched others.
They call on people to ensure cars are kept locked and valuables not put on display.
It is intended to carry out a similar operation in due course.
