THAMES Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a public order incident in Reading, including a specific witness.
It comes after a woman was attempting to use the Horseshoe Bridge to the Kennet side of the River Thames towards the Jolly Anglers pub on at around 6.45am on Thursday, October 3.
The victim, a woman in her fifties, was blocked by a man who became abusive and began shouting before chasing her along the remainder of the bridge, along the path on Kennet Side, and down Cholmeley Road to the junction of School Terrace and Liverpool Road.
The victim then managed to escape.
The offender is described as Asian, of large build, and around 6ft tall, with a mole under one of his eyes and large hands.
He is also described as having spoken with a local accent, and wore three-quarter-length trousers, a dark, hooded top or coat with the hood up, and a black mask.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, including a specific person who may have witnessed the incident, as they rode along the bridge shortly before the incident on a bike.
Police staff investigator Charis Griffiths, based at Reading police station, said: “We are appealing for information following this incident.
“We are asking anyone with information to please call 101 quoting reference 43240474660.
“We are also specifically appealing to a man who we believe could have witnessed this incident. He was riding a bike along the Horseshoe Bridge moments before the incident.
“Additionally we are ask anyone with CCTV, dash-cam, or mobile footage to get in touch with the force in case it has captured something which may assist this investigation.
