THAMES Valley Police has renewed its appeal for help tracing a missing man from Reading as they are “growing increasingly concerned for [his] welfare.”.
Sidney, aged 93, was last seen in Earley at around 8.20pm on Thursday, January 5.
He was wearing a black dressing gown with a red stripe, a blue jumper, and grey trousers, and he is known to frequent Reading.
Thames Valley Police says a search has been ongoing since he was reported missing, focusing on the immediate vicinity of Earley, including the Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve.
Volunteers from Berkshire Lowland Search & Rescue and dog teams are also assisting in the search.
Superintendent Ade Hall said: “Sidney has now been missing for more than 36 hours, and we’re becoming increasingly concerned for his wellbeing.
“I would like to thank all those who have contacted police so far with information, although unfortunately, this has not led us to any confirmed sightings of Sidney.
“Our concern for Sidney’s welfare is growing, particularly given the weather conditions and the clothing that Sidney was wearing.
“We have no information that suggests that Sidney has left the local area and, as such, I would encourage the public in the local area to please check outbuildings, parked vehicles, and public spaces and contact police immediately on 999 if you see Sidney.
“You can also report any possible sightings via our website.”
