A MOTORCYCLIST has been treated in hospital and police are appealing for witnesses following a failure to stop collision.
Just before 5.10pm on Saturday, May 10, a motorcyclist was travelling westbound on Oxford Road, when an unknown vehicle failed to give way at the Wantage Road mini-roundabout.
The car, believed to be a dark-coloured Vauxhall Corsa, pulled out in front of the motorcyclist, causing him to be knocked off his bike.
The unknown vehicle then reversed into a white Suzuki Vitara, before turning around and travelling back up Wantage Road without stopping at the scene of the collision.
The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries, which required hospital treatment, but he has since been discharged.
Investigating officer PC Eden Hamblin, from the Roads Policing Unit, said: “This collision has occurred in the early evening on a busy stretch of Oxford Road.
“I am appealing to anybody who witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage, to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.
“You can do so by making a report online or by calling 101, quoting reference 43250229208.
“I would also like to appeal directly to the driver of the car to contact us.”
