In a grey kitchen we first met
and shook hands, first hellos.
With the excuse of a shower, you escaped back
into your cloud of green.
Each time I knocked,
every study break,
thick smoke and burning smile.
Invite me in,
I go in,
into your cloud of green.
Together five years couldn’t clear
your cloud of green.
In a mist of time
love burned.
Toke after toke,
smothered by your cloud of green.
And still I wonder,
almost thirty,
When will we breathe?Kiss the air
but the haze remains.
Your cloud of green.
