ORJAN NYLAND 7: Couldn’t have done anything to prevent the first goal and made an excellent stop in the 30th minute to fly across to his left to keep out Christie’s effort on his Royals debut.

ANDY YIADOM 7: Dovetailed well on the right with Ince to provide some threat going forward and fizzed some decent crosses into the box.

MICHAEL MORRISON 6: Read the game well at times to get across and prevent Jaidon Anthony from getting through on goal.

TOM HOLMES 6: Struggled at times against a very tricky customer in Dominick Solanke but looked more assured as the game grew and Bouremouth sat deep.

TOM MCINTYRE 5: Again had to play out of position and asked to do a job at left-back in the absence of Rahman. Defended well against Jamal Lowe in the second-half but was pinned back and now able to get forward.

JOSH LAURENT 5: Played in an advanced midfield role and although he worked hard, his end product was lacking and misplaced a few important passes.

DANNY DRINKWATER 6: Get the ball ticking nicely in midfield in the second-half as Reading had plenty of possession in search of finding an equaliser that proved allusive.

ANDY RINOMHOTA 7: Had a good chance from Ince’s pull back in the first half that he fired straight at the keeper. Got up and down the pitch well to help in defence and attack.

OVIE EJARIA 7: Showed some magic on a few occasions with some passes to break the lines and had a shout for a penalty in the second-half when he looked to have been tripped in the box.

TOM INCE 8.5: Looked bright on the right-hand side and fired in plenty of appealing crosses that could have been converted had Joao beat Phillips to the ball. Hit a stunning strike to score the equaliser.

LUCAS JOAO 7: Held the ball up well and brought others into play in attack with his strength. Had a big chance in each half, the first saved by Travers and the second taken away from his grasp by Nat Phillips’ superb intervention. Fans weren’t happy to see him taken off with 15 minutes left.
