Joel Pereira 7.5: Stood up when tested. Came up with a super stop when Charlton had a big chance to snatch the lead at the very end of the first-half.

Michael Craig 7: Looking more assured in the right-back role despite that not being his natural position. Competed well, got stuck into plenty of tackles.

Amadou Mbengue 7: A strong performance alongside Bindon. Bonus points for celebrating in front of the Charlton fans after winning a goal kick at 2-0 up.

Tyler Bindon 7: Won so many aerial duels. Made a superb recovery to stop Campbell getting through. Took a nasty fall and had to be replaced for final 20 mins.

Jeriel Dorsett 6: Made a really important block in the first-half. Struggled in the second half as Charlton found momentum and was replaced by Abrefa.

Lewis Wing 6.5: Helped Reading to control the first half with his excellent range of passing. Quieter than usual

Charlie Savage 8: Making a good habit of scoring goals and added to his collection with a stunner that smacked the post on its way in.

Ben Elliott 7: Another assured performance in the middle of the park. Big future ahead of him if he’s able to keep growing under the coaching and guidance of Ruben Selles.

Adrian Akande 7: A livewire. Had some frustrating moments, but kept working. Stole the ball from the keeper but couldn’t apply the finish, then a few moments later whipped in an excellent ball to assist Smith’s goal.

Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan 5: A quiet game for the forward who has made a strong start to the season. Most of Reading’s attacks in the first-half came down the right.

Sam Smith 7: Off the mark with his first goal of the season. Made a trademark darting run to the near post and finished neatly to beat the keeper.
