Leading law firm Blandy & Blandy and funeral directors AB Walker, both of which have offices in Wokingham, welcomed guests to two popular ‘Planning for the Future’ events at All Saints Church in the town on 27 March and 3 April.
Talks covered Wills and Estate Planning, Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) and funeral arrangements and wishes, with the events providing a reminder of the importance of considering these aspects and an opportunity to speak to both teams and ask any questions.
Caroline Casagranda, a partner in Blandy & Blandy’s Wills, Probate, Tax & Trusts team, said: “Thank you to everyone who joined us at these busy events, and to Julian and his colleagues at AB Walker and the fantastic team at All Saints Church for helping to make them a success. According to widespread research, at least half of adults in the UK do not have a valid Will, and a much higher proportion do not have Lasting Powers of Attorney in place. Yet both are incredibly important documents that can help to protect an individual and their loves ones’ interests and provide peace of mind for the future.”
Julian Walker, director at AB Walker, commented: “The current climate is clearly concerning many people – with attendees clearly seeking opportunities, through their Wills and Estate Planning, to preserve wealth for the next generation, and also create their own peace of mind through funeral planning.”
Anne King, a trustee at All Saints Church, added: “All Saints was delighted to work with Blandy and Blandy and AB Walker on this event and to welcome so many people to the Church. It was an excellent example of how the Church can work with the local community in many different ways.”
