A ROOF extension containing six flats could be added to a building in Reading town centre.
Thackeray Estates, which owns the building occupied by TSB bank at the corner of Broad Street with has applied to Reading Borough Council for permission to add the dwellings, which would comprise one two-bed and five one-bed flats.
The developer’s agents, Town Planning Bureau, says Thackeray Estates have taken care to design the extension so the brick lettering for the neighbouring McIlroy building would still be visible.
An earlier plan to convert the first, second and third floors of the building to prove nine flats (reference 220970) was approved in November last year.
