The owner of a Reading town centre store wants to convert the first and second floors of the building into two flats rather than the existing one.

The Smart Tech phone and accessory shop recently opened on the ground floor of 88 Broad Street.

The proposal will see the upper floors converted into two one-bed flats.

Existing floorplans show that the first and second floors are already used as a two-bedroom flat, with the beds on the second floor and living facilities on the first floor.

The application can be seen by searching Reading Borough Council’s planning website for reference 231639.
