READING charity Parents And Children Together (PACT) is calling on individuals and businesses local to their head office to donate unwanted gifts and surplus stock that might otherwise be tucked away in cupboards or storerooms.
The charity is looking for donated items that are unused or in very good condition to support its work.
These might include: toys, games, stationery, jewellery, books, and unopened beauty/self-care, or food and drink items.
Julie MacLean, PACT’s Events and Supporter Engagement Assistant, said: “Donating unwanted presents or stock is a simple way to make a big impact.
“These items will help us raise vital funds and bring joy to the families we support.
“Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference.
“We’d love to hear from anyone who thinks they can support us.”
The donations will be used to help PACT in a variety of ways, including as raffle/tombola prizes at fundraising events, as resources for its Bounce Back 4 Kids (BB4K) project, and its Alana House sessions; or as gifts for children, women and families supported by the charity.
PACT provides adoption services across southern and central England.
It creates families by recruiting, assessing and approving people who want to become parents through adoption and matches them with children looking for their permanent, loving home.
The organisation then provides specialist adoption support to all its families, for life.
