Cricket fans captivated by the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA can now look forward to another Cricket World Cup.

Following in the footsteps of World Cups for the Over 50s and Over 60s, the inaugural Over 70s Cricket World Cup will be held in England over two weeks from Sunday, July 28 , culminating on August 1 in a grand final at the Sir Paul Getty ground at Wormsley nestling in a secluded part of the Chiltern Hills.

Seven countries are taking part*, proof of the growth of seniors cricket not only in the established nations of England and Australia (who play regularly for the “Silver Ashes”) but now becoming established across further cricket playing nations as players who started as 50s players age into the 70s age group

The tournament will take place at a variety of high quality cricket club venues across Hertfordshire; Buckinghamshire, Middlesex and Berkshire, giving all teams the chance to experience the facilities of traditional grounds in the towns and villages of those counties.

Entry is free for all matches including the final whilst selected games will be streamed on the Over 70s Cricket World Cup YouTube channel.

Participating teams in the tournament will be England, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Walkes.
