THAMES Valley Police has urged the public to use its website for reporting non-emergency crimes as issues with contact centres have been reported.
Police posted to social media channels just before 4.30pm on Tuesday, January 9, to say that their contact centres were experiencing problems with calls.
They advise that members of the public use online reporting for non-urgent matters, as calls to 101 are not being received.
While 999 emergency calls are still being received, they are experiencing delays in responding.
Members of the public are advised to only call in the case of absolute emergencies.
They are working urgently to fix the issue.
In a post to X, Thames Valley Police said: “Please note we are having issues with calls going into our contact centres.
“999 calls are still being responded to but there may be a delay in them being answered so please only call if an absolute emergency.
“101 calls are not coming through to our contact centres so please use online reporting for anything that is not urgent: thamesvalley.police.uk/ro/report“
