A Portuguese cafe and sandwich bar is to open on one of the busiest roads in Reading.

DeNata Coffee & Co is a new venture by a Portuguese couple.

Co-owner Ana Dias said: “Our sales in the morning are going to be focused on Portuguese tarts, other Portuguese patisseries, and specialty coffee drinks.

“Then, from 11am, we are going to have homemade soup and homemade sandwiches that will be nice and filling, along with sweet treats like waffles and milkshakes.”

DeNata is hoping to open on Oxford Road, and in preparation, Mrs Dias has applied to sell alcohol from 10am to 7pm each day.

“We have applied to sell alcohol to give people the option to drink beer or wine if they want,” she said.
